Cookie Policy
AthenaGen AI I.K.E. (the “Company”) uses cookies and similar technologies (pixels, tags, SDKs, local storage) to operate the website, improve user experience, analyze usage, and—only with your consent—to display personalized ads/remarketing. This Policy explains what cookies are, how we use them, how you can control them, and how they relate to our Privacy Policy.
Note: This Policy supplements the Privacy Policy and forms an integral part of it.
1) What are cookies
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser/device when you visit a website. They are distinguished as first-party cookies (placed by us) and third-party cookies (placed by third-party providers, e.g., Google/Meta/LinkedIn). We also use similar technologies such as pixels and local storage.
2) Legal basis & consent (ePrivacy/GDPR)
Strictly necessary cookies operate without consent (they are fundamental for providing the service you request).
All other categories (Functionality/Performance, Analytics, Advertising/Remarketing, Social Networking) are activated only with your prior consent.
Consent is granular (by category) and you may withdraw/modify it at any time through the Cookie Preferences Center: [Change cookie settings].
Access to the website is not dependent on providing consent (no cookie walls).
3) Who is responsible
Data Controller: ATHENAGEN AI I.K.E., 166A Kifisias Ave., 151 26 Athens, Greece. For questions: info@athenagenai.com.
4) Categories of cookies we use
-
Strictly Necessary: required for core functions (e.g., security, consent management, session integrity).
-
Functionality & Performance: enhance experience (e.g., video player, chat widgets).
-
Analytics: help us understand usage (e.g., Google Analytics 4) to optimize content/UX.
-
Advertising/Remarketing: enable campaign measurement, frequency capping, and audience creation/update for Google Ads, Meta (Facebook/Instagram), LinkedIn.
-
Social Networking: facilitate content sharing/embeds (e.g., YouTube). They may be used by providers for advertising purposes.
6) Third-party embeds & the “two-click” solution
Embedded elements (e.g., YouTube) load only after you give consent for the relevant categories. Otherwise, a placeholder appears (first click) and loading occurs only after your choice (second click).
7) How to control cookies
From the Cookie Preferences Center: [Change cookie settings].
From your browser: delete/block cookies (see your browser’s help).

8) Do Not Track (DNT) & Global Privacy Control (GPC)
If your browser transmits DNT/GPC signals, we make efforts to honor them by mapping to defaults in the CMP, to the extent technically feasible.
9) International transfers
Some providers (e.g., Google/Meta/LinkedIn/Zoho) may process data in countries outside the EU/EEA. We apply Appropriate Safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses – SCCs) as described in the Privacy Policy.
10) Consent logging
We keep consent records via the CookieScript CMP (date-time, categories, banner/policy version, anonymous identifier) for ~12 months or for as long as we rely on consent, and at least for a reasonable period to demonstrate compliance. You can withdraw/modify at any time from the Cookie Preferences Center.
11) Policy updates
This Policy may be updated periodically. The current version is published with a “Last updated” date. For material changes, we will provide prominent notice and, where required, seek renewed consent.
